Isn't what's wrong with this quote that it identifies the Bible with Jesus, if not God tout court?

Hi John - welcome!!! Thanks for responding along with James. Wouldn't it be easy if everything was 'direct'? I am happier with 'certain' as long as it isn't interpreted in an exclusive way. If certian meant 'these and no other' then there would be no need for Ward to write books about the doctrine of Scripture and James and I would be out of a job.

It has to be the dilemma created by his use of 'certain' - it limts the words that God is allowed to use and makes them ' special' and then this links to the two uses of direct. Certainity is grand and an illusion.

Was it "direct" that bothered you most?
