I have just spent a highly enjoyable afternoon with members of the Erhardt seminar (the biblical studies postgraduate seminar in the University of Manchester) at the newly refurbished John Rylands' Library, taking a look at parts of their biblical manuscript collection; the current exhibition on the history of the Bible in English and, of course, p52, probably the oldest physical fragment of the NT that we possess.
The library has been beautifully restored with a new annex that blends modern glass and chrome chic with the original neo-gothic architecture. So, if you are ever in Manchester, make a point of going in to look around (it is a public library). For me, I think I know where I will be spending much of my sabbatical next year (see the picture).
